The Copa America is an international football tournament which is played among the countries from the South America. The competition was first held in the year 1916 and held its 44th edition last year in Chile where the host prevailed as the Copa America winner over much-fancied opponents Argentina in the finals. The current tournament is being held in 10 cities across the United States, making it the first edition ever to be played outside the South American Border. The tournament started on 4th June 2016 with 16 different teams across the two continents including the title favourites Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and defending champions Chile.  The 2016 Copa America winner will be decided on Sunday, 27th June 2016 as the final for the tournament is slated to be played at the Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey at 20:00 Eastern Time Zone.

Copa America Cup 2016 Closing Ceremony

The Copa America Centenario opened with a brilliant opening ceremony at the Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, a day before the tournament officially began. The ceremony was attended by a number of important delegates and included performances from Colombian J Balvin, Canadian based band Magic and America’s own Jason Derulo.

The Closing ceremony of Copa America Centenario is going to be an even bigger event at the MetLife Stadium before the finale. The ceremony is set to feature a number of celebrities including American pop band DNCE, Colombian singer Carlos Vives, Puerto Rican singer Daddy Yankee and American Rap star Pitbull performing the Copa America official theme song for the tournament- ‘Superstars’.

The Copa America TV Broadcasting rights in the English language are taken up by Fox Sports, while all the telecast of matches in the Spanish Language across the world will be done by Univision. Viewers from America can watch the Copa America final live on Fox Sports or Netflix. In Argentina, it will be streamed by TV Publica whilst in India, you can easily watch it on the Sony Pictures Network. The final of Copa America Centenario 2016 will be played on the 27th June. With the traditional heavyweights, Brazil and Uruguay already out of the tournament in the group stages itself, the Copa America Cup 2016 winner is set to between Lionel Messi’s Argentina and James Rodriguez powered Colombia. However, you cannot simply dismiss the defending Champions Chile from retaining their title as they are spearheaded by Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal.
