The Olympics will feature 28 different sports and a total of 308 medals are up for grabs for the participating sportsman to win.

The event is set to welcome all the participants from various countries and would announce the game open with the lightening of the Olympic Flame by the Olympic Torch. The sporting extravaganza is also set to include performances from a number of artists. Top bureaucrats and ministers from across the world are expected to be present at the event.

The IOC decided to sell the broadcasting rights for the 2016 Olympics to GrupoGlobo. The deal allows the company to cover the Olympics over the Radio, on pay TV and also give them with digital rights to the whole games. The Rio Olympics 2016 TV Broadcasting channels for a number of countries include YLE for England, Canal+ in France, ZDF in Germany, NBC Universal in America and Dentsu in Asia.

2016 Rio Olympics Schedule & Fixtures

The Olympics will start with the opening ceremony on the 5th August with the sporting events to start from the next day. Although the first few rounds for the Football sporting event will start on 3rd August. The Olympics 2016 will officially end with the Closing Ceremony on the 21st August.
